Match your Bridal Hair Styles to Your Dress
Getting your wedding day look just right can be very challenging and stressful. After all it's not everyday you wear a big beautiful dress, crystals & tulle in your hair and fabulous jewelry. Balance is key. You don't want any one element of you wedding day look to over power the rest. I recently was a contributing writer / stylist to Bridal Hair Showcase Magazine where I share tips on balancing between your hair and the gown to create an unforgettable wedding day look. For those of you who may not have pick up a copy on your newsstand, I thought I would share a few of my favorite bridal hair styles.
Retro Bridal Hair Style
If you have a fun full flirty dress, maybe with a ballerina A line skirt, finish off making
statement with a great hairstyle.Your hairstyle should reflect the look and feel of the dress. Have some fullness in your hairstyle to balance out your fun full skirt.

Romantic Bridal Hair Style
If you have a dress of lace, sheer organza or layers of tulle chances are it exudes a feeling of softness and romance. Reflect this in your hairstyle with a soft up-do or soft billowy waves. An up-do or down hair style works well with this look. Just keep in mind keep your hairstyle soft, slightly relaxed and nothing to extreme.

Cinderella Bridal Hair Style
If you have a full dress with jewels, lots of layers and pickups, let the dress be the star. Your hair style should be elegant, slightly full and controlled. Be careful not to pull your hair back to tightly, thus creating the illusion of a small head and big skirt. Nor do you want your hair to be too extravagant or busy as to compete with the dress.

Garden Party Bridal Hair Style
If you're having an afternoon wedding or second wedding and your dress is more on the informal / casual side let you hairstyle reflect that with a polished slight relaxed style instead an fancy, elegant up-do. A half up half down style works great or a soft side pony.
