Manhattan Bride Fall/Winter 2009

ModelBride stylists Beth and Lori created several looks for Manhattan Bride's cover model. Editors chose the version where Beth set the model's hair with a large curling iron and brushed it out for smoothness, body and a very retro, glam look.

Lori prepped the model with Prep and Prime skin from MAC Cosmetics and added foundation and powder for a clean, fresh look. She dusted a sun-kissed apricot blush from the Naturally Beautiful Beauty Box onto the apples of the model's cheeks. Finally Line and Lacquer Lips in Baby Lips Pink was applied to her lips, giving them a light, fresh appearance.

"Our model, Bailey has beautiful eyes, so I decided to make them the focal point," says Lori. "I began by applying a smoky, chestnut and cafe' colored shadow, from the Golden Girl Beauty Box onto Bailey's eye lids. Individual false lashes, eye liner and 'Mink' eye shadow bring out her eyes."

ModelBride stylists Lori Dunn and Beth Rolon worked together to create one of Manhattan Bride's featured bridal looks for its Spring/Summer 2009 issue.

Lori says "Every woman is beautiful. Making a woman feel amazing with stunning hair and makeup is just as important as making her look glamorous. Our job as artists is to see the beauty of each bride and bring it to the surface."

Editors also chose to feature a vintage style handbag and a pearl bracelet available at the ModelBride Boutique.

The Oboe Bridal Shoe has a fantastic wedge heel and a kicky bow, while the Bowright Bridal Shoe has a more classically styled heel with a crystal embellishment at the toe.

ModelBride hair and makeup artist Boushelle is the talent behind this dramatic cover look for New Jersey Bride. The model's full chignon is accented with a crystal-studded ribbon headband.

The New York Times interviewed Lori Dunn about bridal beauty in 2008. Lori talked about the trend toward long flowing hair worn down, and the popularity of Hair Extensions to get the look.

New Jersey Bride, Spring 2008

Lori was interviewed for an article called "Secrets from the Makeup Pros" in the spring issue. When asked about the day-of hair and makeup, Lori recommends that you allow at least two hours for yourself and one hour for each bridesmaid - 30 minutes for hair and 30 minutes for makeup.

Lori also recommends using an eyeshadow base to prevent creasing like the one found in the Naturally Beautiful Beauty Box. For long lasting lipstick, Lori applies foundation over the lips, then a liner, next lipstick with a brush and finally, a lip sealer to lock in the color.
