Wedding Hairstyles Retro Bride

Inspired by a 1960's beehive, ModelBride's version is a bit more streamlined for a chic, modern look.

Our model Mara has just a touch of natural wave in her hair which softens her look slightly. If you have very straight hair expect the look to be ultra sleek and a bit more dramatic.

Tease and Twist

To begin, our ModelBride stylists teased Mara's hair at the crown and throughout back so there would be lots of fullness with which to work.

After teasing, a fine tooth comb and a bristle brush were used to smooth the top layer of hair over the teased section. Next, the stylists formed a French twist near the nape of Mara's neck.

To finish, Mara's hair was smoothed and tucked from the crown section into the top of the twist, and everything was secured with bobby pins.

Accessory Details

Lori accessorized the 'do with the Tinsel Town Headband which not only helps wispy bangs stay off your face, but is key to giving structure and definition to this style.

Very short bangs will work best when sleekly swept to the side - think Audrey Hepburn.

For a classic element Lori used pearl jewelry. The Chantal Necklace and the Chantal Earrings include a crystal detail to match the stones in the headband.

Beyond Back-Combing

Even with teasing and back combing, you may need extra length to achieve this very full look. Either a Mini Fall Hair Extension or a Medium Fall Hair Extension can be custom dyed to match your hair and help you get this look.
