Stop Dieting and Eat More

If you're like most brides, you want to look & feel great on your wedding day!

 Maybe you want to firm up or possibly drop a few pounds. So many times, I hear Brides-To -Be say that Dreaded four letter word, DIET. 

 The word diet conjures up thoughts of restriction, starving and doing away with anything that could possibly be delicious.  No wonder the word makes us want to rebel.

If you are looking to feel better and get in shape for your wedding, I prefer to use the words Life Style Change instead of diet

I personally don't know if I have ever actually gone on a diet. When I feel my clothes getting tight, I cut back on certain foods and eat MORE of other foods.

By choosing the right foods you can actually eat more.

What are the right foods, you ask? For starters remember to Eat the Rainbow.

Fill your diet with colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut back on processed foods. Cooking at home with your Fiance' is a great way to spend time together as well as ensure the food you are eating is cooked light & healthy.

One of my favorite Go-To dishes is Vegetable Primavera. It's quick, easy, healthy. and best of all, there are normally left overs for the next days lunch!

                        Pasta Primavera Recipe

Ingredients: Vegetables, onion, garlic, olive oil, fresh basil & parsley

Chop any vegetables you have on hand.

Chop onions, garlic and herbs.

In a wok or skillet, add 1/4 of olive oil.

Add onions and saute.

Add the garlic and vegetables.

Add 1/4  -1/2 cup of chicken or vegetable broth.

Toward the end of sauteing vegetables add the fresh herbs.

Remove from heat once veggies become some what soft.

Toss with pasta. Sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese *Optional

For a healthier option, try tossing vegetables with Forro instead of pasta. This ancient grain is high in fiber and nutrients such as magnesium and iron.

Another healthy option to pasta is Spaghetti Squash.. Bake squash halves in oven. Once cooked and scoop out of outer skin, the squash resembles skinny spaghetti. Add any healthy topping to the squash. Delicious!

Eating healthy is about making subtle changes. By swapping out unhealthy meals for healthy meals you will be amazed at the changes you will see.  Not only may you drop a few pounds, you will notice shinier hair, glowing skin, strong nails and more energy.
